Mineral wool insulation

Spray foam insulation
Spray foam can deliver excellent air sealing and insulation performance, but it is a product that demands experienced installation. The components used during application require strict handling, ventilation, and curing procedures. After proper application and curing, spray foam can be an effective part of a high-performance building envelope. Improper mixing, poor ventilation, or application by an unqualified installer can create odor, comfort, and indoor-air-quality concerns. Vermiculite and possible asbestos contamination
Vermiculite insulation deserves special attention in older attics. It often looks like lightweight gray-brown or silver-gold pellets. Some vermiculite insulation may contain asbestos, a mineral fiber that can become dangerous when airborne and inhaled.
Do not sweep, vacuum, bag, or move suspected vermiculite yourself. Do not store boxes on it or allow other contractors to disturb it before it has been evaluated. When Old Insulation Needs Professional Attention
Insulation removal is not automatically necessary just because a home feels cold in winter or hot in summer.
